KEINO'S 2018 INDIAN SCOUT BUILD | RAHOUL GHOSE

Keino Sasaki, of Red Hook's Keino Cycles, was one of three builders -- including Satya Kraus (Kraus Motor Co.), and skateboarding icon Steve Caballero (in conjunction with Roland Sands Design) -- who were enlisted by Indian Motorcycles to give their personal designer's touch to the company's new 2018 Scout bobber. All three uniquely modded bikes were on display at this year's Brooklyn Invitational in September, of which Indian was a title sponsor.

NYC Motorcyclist went by Keino's shop on several occasions to capture the artistry behind the local build as well as the final, finished look: a cafe racer-style bike which features Keino's now customary metal work -- an all-new, handbuilt, aluminum tank, seat cowl, front fender and fairing treatment -- as well as custom pipes, and the addition of Beringer Brake's twin inboard braking system on the front wheel. Red power coating was done by Brooklyn's Arcane Moto, seat by Via Meccanica, painting by BOO Pinstriping, with additional support from Lawrence Au Design, LC Fabrications and Keino's shop cat Mia.
