For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.

Here is Sorez's exclusive May piece, titled Diggin' the Ride. Simple truths. Ride to live ... live to ride. Take what life gives you and steer into the wind.

Sorez, a long-time contributing writer for Road Hawk Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. He also has a new magazine coming out this month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published back in the spring of 2018.

Diggin' the Ride

As open road unfolds before me
Past is left behind in the dust
Future’s uncertain hope it’s there
Best thing to do is hold onto now
Every mile is one that is given
And I will take what I can get
Always thankful that I am able
To twist throttle, into the wind
Harley thunder rollin’ down road
Forward motion as life unfolds
Diggin’ what the wind blows in
Living the ride I was born to live.
