Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive April piece, titled Highway is Long ~ Life is Short. Take the time to capture some adventure in life ... new experiences, new people, new perspectives ... new rides. Life is short.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
HIGHWAY IS LONG ~ LIFE IS SHORT
I’ll be catching some miles
On a cross country ride
Tankful of gas, saddlebags packed
Plastic and cash in my wallet
A kiss on the lips, ol’ lady don’t trip
So it’s solo once again in the saddle
Time to unwind and clear my mind
From the everyday chaos and stress
Places to go and people to be seen
Making friends that I have not yet met
Never burned bridges upon the road
So there are no doors that are locked
The highway is long but life is short
It’s time to start twisting the throttle
Take care of yourself, mentally, in these trying times ... only then can you help others.
