For biker scribe Eddie β€˜Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.

Here is Sorez's exclusive March piece, titled Afterthought, about being safe out there ... keeping your mind on the road and saving those deep thought sessions for when you're parked.

Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.

Afterthought

Although there were no answers
Revealed within the wind
Did not stop me from searching
Everywhere that I went
Kept my eyes wide open
Scanning to and fro
Looking for a sign
Coming from up above
The road will beg to differ
Questions that are pondered
And cagers always interrupt
Any deep thought process
So the best time to meditate
On two wheels and open roads
Is when the ride is over
And the bike is cooling down
