Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive November piece, titled Twisting Throttles. Sometimes we need people in our lives who force us to look inwards for answers to how our lives have gone. True discovery and healing lies within. Then you have something to offer those around you.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
Twisting Throttles
For far too long I had taken for granted
Blessings upon which I’ve been bestowed
I really went from not having anything
To winding up possessing a treasure trove
Still cannot rub two quarters together
But that is not what it’s all about
I have respect that has been earned
And I’ve got myself a halfway decent job
A righteous woman that found me
After I became lost, out on the road
Brought me back from the precipice
From the edge that I was riding upon
Brotherhood was gone or so it seemed
Captured again out there in the wind
It’s me that was lost not sisters & bro’s
Found once again while twisting throttles.
Starting Year 6 as NYC Moto's go-to scribe, Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska delves into life and his love of the moto lifestyle.
