Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive October piece, titled In The Saddle Upon The Road, highlighting the change in seasons both figuratively and in life. No matter where you are on either scale ... live life to it's fullest.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
In The Saddle Upon The Road
There’s a different flow to the wind
Blowing through this time of year
As summer fades in the rear-view
And fall makes it’s presence known
Seasons of change upon the horizon
As years go by and miles are ridden
Life is too short to pause the ride
Just because the sun is not shining
And rain starts coming down hard
Or the temp drops below thirty-three
And there is frost upon the ground
As long as my steel horse starts
Then it is time to ride on through
Storms of life occur without warning
Chaos ensues all ya can do is maintain
Peace in the wind is where it’s at, man
Open roads twisting throttle onward
Comfortable in the saddle upon the road
Prepared for the weather living the life
And ready for chaos when it arrives
After five years as NYC Moto's go-to scribe, Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska continues to look for the positives in life.
