Brother of the Wind & the Pen
For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.
Here is Sorez's exclusive September piece, titled Beyond the Storms ... let the hum of your motor, the sound of rubber on pavement ... and the wind in your face ... melt away the distractions of life.
Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.
BEYOND THE STORMS
At times there’s sunshine
That clears up the rain
A silver lining can be seen
When clouds are gray
Ya just have to continue
To ride on through
Out there on the road
Beyond the storms
Constant distractions
To the left and the right
As well as coming
From inside of your mind
The vibes from the motor
The caress of the wind
Riding with a peace
That comes from within
With Fall on the horizon, taker the the time to enjoy the last vestiges orf summer on two wheels.
