For biker scribe Eddie ‘Sorez’ Pliska, poetry is as much about capturing his passion for the moto lifestyle and the raw energy of two-wheeled travel in prose, as it is about documenting determination in the face of the often-harsh struggles of life. He has had his fair share of both.

Here is Sorez's exclusive October piece, titled Where I Do Belong ... an ode to the timeless satisfaction of the two-wheeled lifestyle and the open road.

Sorez, a contributing writer for Outlaw Biker Magazine who also has a popular book of poetry out, graciously pens some inspiration for the NYC Motorcyclist community each month. You can read more about Sorez in a feature NYC Motorcyclist published in the spring of 2018.

WHERE I DO BELONG

I could not ever imagine
Being away from the road
‘Cause it’s the only place
That I have ever known
Where the past and present
They really do come together
At one-hundred miles an hour
Gearing down creates vibrations
That soothes my mortal soul
Cares, concerns, at times troubles
Can be tossed into the wind
Once held too tight to be let go of
Shifting gears and twisting throttle
Upon two wheels and open roads
It’s the only life I have ever known
Although the highways are long
And our lives are not long enough
In the saddle upon my Harley
Is right now where I do belong
